We have news of a SDK coming out in around 7 months this will allow you to integrate Spiceworks with all your other IT software and gadgets.

  • Will this bring the release of the iPhone app as mentioned yesterday?
  • What other cool stuff will users be able to build?
  • What API’s would you like to see? Give Scot at Spiceworks your feedback or leave your comments here.

At Spiceworld Greg Kattawar (VP of Dev & Co-Founder) kept comparing Spiceworks to iTunes and when asked “Will there be an app store?” He said most likely.

I strongly believe that Spiceworks will open up their platform to individual developers giving them a limited API. After testing that for a few months they will eventually have a premium API (get toner levels, end of life SLA’s) that they will rent out to vendors such as CDW, TigerDirect, NewEgg etc.

I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw down the line SalesForce, Sugar CRM & other ERP vendors utilizing the API.

    So much potential.
