Hey Andy, I'm slipping in late again. I loved it too (your article that is), topical and entertaining. I didn't get to have any contact with Myshell, but her posts are still valuable today. We bump into them all the time. We rocked up to Spiceworks and the community around the time Nic did and for us at least he's been good value too.
I hope all your other ponderings and articles are as good to read as this one was, it'll take me a while but I'll get through them.

Well, I was about to write a comment on another topic a couple of days ago, but desided not to. Dono why.
However, now that you almost 'beg' for a comment I cannot refuse after reading this article.

Greath topic and well written (exepct the spelling...).
There has always been a thin line between work and private life, but with this social networking thing we might need to add an extra pitfull to watch out fore.

Anyways, keep up the spicé typing, I like to read your topics and even added to my rss feed for quick scimming.

May the spice be with you...

You desvered it :-) being able to skype to the US for a speech was GREAT. Like you said Lying on "web 2.0" doesn't work, you will get found out. Seen it happen even here at work when people say there "ill" and then theres pics of them out partying.

Even if another company paid me it would take a lot to persuade me to change. The Spiceworks community brings so much more than any other forum I’ve been part off. The friendly people, the great water cooler chats and the way it is mainly just IT people.

I love the SpiceCorps (need to start more over here) getting to meet people and Spiceworld just looks amazing.

I don’t think any other company or forum will get what Spiceworks has... "The pepper magic".

P.S. Ye can’t remember who that was... lol

Great post (not because I'm mentioned in it multiple times...BTW thank you! :D) but because you made some very interesting points. At the beginning of the whole web 2.0/social media revolution I told a friend of mine that "lying is obsolete". All of you friends knows what you are up to so they don't even need to ask "what's up?" anymore because they saw your Facebook/Twitter status.

With that said Spiceworks is probably afraid of you (akp982) & S.A.M. either: burning out and going on hiatus, being paid by a competitor to be active in their community (like when AOL starting hiring top Digg users) or you just decided that you no longer want to have anything to do with Spiceworks as a company & start turning against them. You two (Andrew & Scott) have a lot of influence so keep in mind: "With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility".

P.S. shame on that person who leaked the MyShell departure before Spiceworks did! ;)
