The Spiceworks BootCamp in Manchester started and like yesterday is set to be a great event at another great venue.

Hi to all those here and hopefully get a chance to chat to a few of you during the breaks.

Spiceworks iPhone app update

Spiceworks recently unveiled details for the new mobile network monitoring and help desk iPhone app. Check out the latest information and view a few early screenshots (although they may change significantly by the time the app is released).

In the community you may now have noticed a in the bar at the bottom of the screen? This is the link to the Spiceworks iPhone application beta signup.

We need beta testers, but not just any beta testers. The best-of-the-bunch. The few, the proud, the dedicated who’ll go above-and-beyond to beta test in a way that’ll shape the future of “everything IT” mobility.

This is very exciting there is no current date for when the signed up users will get a copy but we are told it should be this month. Read more about the iPhone app here or on the sign up page.

The UK BootCamp is off to a good start, its a bit tight for space but seems like it will go well.

• 9:20 – Just started, Tabrez is introducing the day.
• Tabrez is introducing Spiceworks, where is the best place to install it and what browser to use.
• Just did a raise of hands about how Spiceworks is used by the SpiceHeads here, about 50/50 new users and intermediate users and around 15/20 are still on 4.0
• Spiceworks 5.1 is on the way the SW team have it as a internal build
• David has just started talking about how the inventory works and how the clientless scanner works.
• Surprised by the number of people here who haven’t yet installed Spiceworks but kudos to them for turning up

As most of you will hopefully know by now Spiceworks are coming to the UK on there European BootCamp tour. They have already been to Frankfurt in Germany and Rome in Italy this week and will shortly be arriving in the snowy cold UK for the London and Manchester BootCamps.

As unofficial Spiceworks if made in the UK we will be there in person (well weather depending) at both UK events for you to chat to. Although that should be the high light of your day you will also be able to meet Tabrez, David and Ashley who are part of the team that work back in Austin, Texas and Oliver who works in the UK as a sales rep trying to bring in new partners and promote Spiceworks in the UK.

For those unable to make it we will be recording the Manchester event and posting it up early next week which will give you a chance to see what happened.

We are also hoping that Tabrez will have a copy off the new Spiceworks iPhone app on his phone for us to checkout and play with!
