So… How long will it take…

spiceworks logo thumb So... How long will it take... For Spiceworks to realise their is now a unofficial blog floating around on the web?

I may have forgot to tell Spiceworks I was building this site to go inside with www.spread-spiceworks.org.uk once the blog is up and running their will be a lot more integration between the sites but for now they run separately this is mainly to help with SEO and making a presence.

The site went live yesterday and the countdown has started, only time will tell how long it takes and if they care or hunt me down and beat me with a large pepper. I decided I would wait and see how long it took for a bit of a laugh, im sure they’ll love the publicity…

This is the first blog I have ever made and that actually has content which i will be able to continue to produce. I have been using Spiceworks for around half of my IT carer so fair and don’t plan to stop. It is the best network management solution around with so many people in the community and so much you can do with it you really should give it ago if you haven’t already.

Ill let you know when I find out they know…

Spiceworks 4.0 no longer to Support ie6

trashie6 Spiceworks 4.0 no longer to Support ie6Can you believe it IE6 is still being used in the wide world of the tinternet?

A while ago Spiceworks announced in 4.0 they will no longer support IE6 yay.

Internet Explorer 6 has caused so many issues for web developers around the world, with limited support for new “web 2.0” features such as transparent png’s or being able to use div’s fully.

No longer supporting ie6 means that Spiceworks can grow in a way it was unable to before, increasing the speed and looks.

So what does this mean for the normal user?

Most IT pro’s know what IE6 is and even what IE8 is now so should already be running 7 or a better browser like FireFox or google chrome. Unforuntantely if you are using IE6 you will need to upgrade or change your broswer.
