There are so many cool things going on, we tried to post about them, from the live streams to just funny tweets we got abit of everything.

Spiceworks-News is already setup ready to start posting about Spiceworld London (http://www.spiceworld2009.com/london/) want to help us out? Well be there but we want some extra tweeters and posters to try and make it bigger and better than Spiceworld Austin.

Some people on twitter said the virtual event was just as good as being there thanks to the tweets and chats. Lets do the same for London and make Spiceworks want to come back.

“Not only were the sessions very informative and fun, I also enjoyed the opportinuty to meet so many amazing people. Coming to Spiceworld truly gave me a better understanding of how close our community is. Scott Abel’s welcome keynote gave me goosebumps and motivated me to want to be even more active.” merlinpr in the community

Loved it! Great info, great food, great “peer interaction”. I loved getting to meet so many SpiceHeads in person. I have noticed that when I read posts now I do so in the voice of the person that wrote it. icon biggrin Checkout all our Spiceworld2009 posts Definitely worth more than the price I paid to go. icon wink Checkout all our Spiceworld2009 postsSCAdmin in the community

Scaling Back SpiceWorld London – Now Only £145!!!

Spiceworks reduced the cost of SpiceWorld London to £145!

image152 Scaling Back SpiceWorld London Now Only £145!!! Why & How’d You Do It?
Too good to be true, you say? Not at all! One benefit of being our last SpiceWorld-On-the-Road of 2009 is that we’ve received feedback, learned lessons…& applied our findings along the way. Meaning we figured out how we can scale back all the bells-and-whistles and bring the most popular elements of a SpiceWorld (i.e. Spiceworks training, access to our product experts & the chance to hob-nob with other IT pros) across the Atlantic to you in a no-frills fashion – one that’ll cost us less than we originally anticipated.

The Bonus?
We know economic times are still tough, so hopefully the lower the price means more SpiceHeads who’ll be able to come…meaning you’ll meet more Spiceworks users from your area… and swap more Spiceworks tips & tricks + IT recommendations.

Jay came to London….

As mentioned in “Jay hits the plane’s” Jay came to London and I (akp982 (creator of Spiceworks-News) was there to meet him. After a tricky start, not knowing who was there for Spiceworks, me and Jay sitting there looking at each other for 5 mins thinking hmmm I half recognise him but I’m not sure… to other people not being sure if we were Spiceworks Guys or not… No thanks to Jay not wearing a Spiceworks shirt… Anyway in the end there were four of us…

Where were the rest of you? The drinks were on Jay… Anyway, we had a couple of pints and chatted about:

  • Who we all are and who we work for.
  • How we all use Spiceworks.
  • Spiceworks 4.0, what we thought about the beta and the new features.
  • The community and the new features coming soon and the ones that are hidden.
  • Spiceworld and having two sessions for starters and the other for pro’s.

The meeting allowed us to give great feedback to Jay and well the Spiceworks team about what we thought of Spiceworks. Hopefully the new Spiceworks Geotag community feature that has been talked about will allow more IT pro’s to meet up. More information about the information we learnt coming over the next few days only on unofficialspiceworks.com.

I know I can’t wait until the next meet and I’m sure Morphology and AlwaysOn99.9% are up for another as well. Thanks for the beer Lay and Spiceworks.

p.s. Hopefully Jay will send me the group picture we took so I can post it up icon smile Jay came to London….

Update: The guy who got out picture only got our trousers (or in the US pants…) icon sad Jay came to London…. no pic this time

Spiceworld Boston 2009

Some images from Spiceworks Spiceworld Boston 2009

Back in December I said that we wanted to hold a series of “SpiceCamps” — regional one-day, hands-on, Spiceworks training sessions — around the world in 2009.  The SpiceHeads that came to Spiceworld Austin 2008 loved that they got to meet each other, interact with Spiceworkers, and hone their IT and Spiceworks skills.  So we figured why not take the “show on the road” so to speak,  so people could more easily get together (we understand getting to Austin isn’t always the easiest or cheapest thing to do!).  We changed the name to SpiceWorld to keep it in the SpiceWorld brand and decided to head with our user’s help to Boston, Las Vegas, Orlando and London in 2009, plus have our annual 2-day conference in Austin, October 22-23.

Spiceworld Vegas has been and gone

la thumb Spiceworld Vegas has been and goneSpiceworld Vegas was yesterday and everyone so fair seems to love it “SpiceWorld Vegas (May 18) Reflections

Justin (jdorfman) has posted up some videos of Spiceworld Vegas at http://qik.com/jdorfman

A few things we learnt Spiceworld Vegas:

  • Unfortunately Spiceoworks will not have a Linux version anytime soon to due WMI compatibility issues.
  • Their will be a Spiceworks SDK
  • Better Nagios and Spiceworks integration to come

If you missed out and want to join in with Spiceworld’s their is still time to catch one in Orlando, the home of Spiceworks Austin and London

If you went what did you think about it? Will you be going next year?
